Photo Goals: The Six Winning Photos at PH’s Canon PhotoMarathon 2017

    Manila, Philippines — This year’s Canon PhotoMarathon has gathered once again over a thousand of Filipinos who showcased their innate talent in photography to stand a chance to compete among other equally good individuals in Asia at the largest on-the-spot photography contest in the region.

    This year’s participants were challenged to deliver beautiful but compelling images that resonate with the themes of “City Treasure” and “Humor” within a grueling period of time. Among the two thousand entries submitted during the competition, these six stunning images, captured with the help of different Canon cameras, were the ones that took the breath of this year’s judges and were declared as winners.

    3. Theme 1 2nd Runner-up: Katrina Garcia

    4. Theme 2 2nd Runner-up: Mark Dizon
    Theme: Humor

    5. Theme 1 3rd Runner-up: Robert John Garcia

    Camera Used: Canon EOS Rebel T3i

     

    6. Theme 2 3rd Runner-up: Johann Nino Mari Abi-abi
    Theme: Humor
    Camera Used: Canon EOS 6D

     

    The photos were judged according to relevance to the theme (50%), creativity in theme interpretation (30%), and the composition of photography with the use of lighting, exposure, and focus (20%).

    This year’s Canon PhotoMarathon winner took home a new Canon EOS 6D Mark II DSLR camera, a PIXMA G3000 printer, and an all-expense paid trip to Japan to represent the Philippines at the grand finals in Japan next year. Meanwhile, the runners-up also brought home their own Canon products and other special prizes from the event sponsors.
