    Update History

    Modifications from Ver.1.34 to Ver.1.36
    1. The specific period of time for auto cleaning execution has been modified.
    There could be a case that cleaning failure occurs on the color side when printing only with monochrome. To address this issue, the period of time for auto cleaning execution on the color side has been modified as follows.
    Before: Auto cleaning is executed within the specific period of time depending on the usage environment (temperature/humidity).
    After: Auto cleaning is executed on a regular basis.

    Modifications from Ver.1.30 to Ver.1.34
    1. Enhancement and improvement of HP-GL/2 function have been implemented. (iPF755)
    Following setting items have been added to the HP-GL/2 menu on the control panel.
    - [Over Size]: Function to print with setting margins
    - [Print Centered]: Function to print in the center of media
    - [Enlarge/Reduce]: Function to configure the scale factor (25%-400%)
    - [Line width correction]: Function to set correction value of line width
    (Target line width can be configured with [Pen Setup])
    - [Detect image size]: Function to analyze image data and detect image size
    Along with the addition of the setting items above, the function of
    [Page Size Process 1] and [Page Size Process 2] have been deleted.
    2. Fixed the failure that white line appears on the image under a certain condition.

    Modifications from Ver.1.22 to Ver.1.30
    1.Fix the hung up issue rarely occurs when going into sleep mode.
    2.Optimized the control of the print head.
    3.The problem that the community name setting in SNMP setting was not processed correctly has been fixed.
    4. Shutdown timer function has been added.
    -Shutdown timer
    After the printer goes into Sleep Mode, power will be turned off automatically when the situation that the printer is not operated continues until the time being set in advance by operation panel.

    1. Modifications due to parts change

    1. Improved functions in HP-GL/2
    2. A menu that enables Scan Wait Time to be specified only for the leading edge has been added in operation panel.
    3. The fairly infrequent problem of printer not being able to retrieve from sleep mode has been fixed.

    Modifications from Ver.1.11 to Ver.1.15
    The failure described below has been fixed.
    - In rare cases, the error massage (adjustment failed) appears or abnormal images (shifted line or color) occur at the printer installation or execution of advanced head adjustment.

    *Precautions for version upgrading
    After version upgrade, perform one of the followings.
    - For roll paper users:
    Remove the paper once, and then reload it.
     From [Setting/Adj. Menu] of printer, execute [Auto (Advanced)] in [Head Posi.Adj.].
    - For cut sheet users:
    Perform printing Status Print or the like.
    After that, turn the power off and back on, and reload the paper.
     From [Setting/Adj. Menu] of printer, execute [Auto (Advanced)] in [Head Posi.Adj.].

    Modifications from Ver.1.09 to Ver.1.11
    1. Addition of an A4-conversion cumulative no. of sheets counter display to the top area of the operation panel.
    2. As a remedy for the cut linearity problem in clear films, the precut length has been changed from 50mm to 150mm.

    Modifications from Ver.1.07 to Ver.1.09
    1. Degrading of print quality in vertical texts which occurs when performing HP/GL printing has been fixed.
    2. The failure that printing is disabled when performing HP/GL2 printing if file name contains double-byte character AND its 2nd byte is "5C"(backslash) has been fixed.
    3. The failure that if the printer is left for more than one hour while replacing the head with "Open the upper cover" message displayed, an error occurs has been fixed.

    Modifications from Ver.1.06 to Ver.1.07
    1. Reduced operation noise with Plain Papers/Coated Papers when printing
    2. The problem that when roll paper ended during printing, printing restarts from the next page after roll paper is refeeded has been fixed.
    3. The problem that when paper size is changed (small -> large), back of paper is smeared in rare cases has been fixed.
    4. The problem that when used with continuous power-on, it might mis-detect the roll paper end in rare cases has been fixed.

    Modifications from Ver.1.01 to Ver.1.06
    1. The problem in which a printing failure may occur in some CAD applications depending on the setting has been fixed.
    2. The problem during network printing in which printing is disabled in rare occasions has been fixed.

    Hardware: Any computer running the software listed above.

    Interface Connectivity:
    The printer and computer where this program is executed must be connected
    with either of the following methods.

    - Connected via a TCP/IP network and capable of printing via the network.
    - Connected via a USB or IEEE 1394 port cable and capable of printing
    as a local printer.

    Note: If you are using IEEE1394, IEEE1394 Class Driver is needed.

    Caution

    * You must log into Windows as an Administrator before the installation.
    * Before You start the firmware version update program, close any other applications that are running.
    * Do not try to use the printer while the firmware version update program is running. If a print job is executing, cancel the print job or wait for the job to finish before You execute the version update program.
    * Never switch off the target printer while the firmware version update program is running.
    * If the firmware version update fails while writing to the flash ROM, You may not be able to start the printer. In this case, contact a Canon service center or the dealer where You purchased the printer.

    Setup instruction

    (1) Switch the printer on.
    (2) When you have downloaded the file, decompress it on your computer hard disk.
    (3) Execute the setup file. The imagePROGRAF Firmware Update Tool is installed.
    (4) From the Start menu, select Programs to execute imagePROGRAF Firmware Update Tool.
