    Changes in firmware:
    Firmware Version 1.0.1.0 incorporates the following fixes.
    Corrects the phenomenon in which the remaining battery level gradually decreases even though the battery charge is complete and the camera remains connected to a computer.
    (This phenomenon does not occur when charging using the CB-2LH battery charger or the CA-DC30 compact power adapter).

    The firmware Version 1.0.1.0 released this time necessary to update cameras with firmware up to Version 1.0.0.0.
    If your camera's firmware is already Version 1.0.1.0, it is not necessary to update the firmware.
    Please note that once the camera is updated to the latest version, it cannot be restored to a previous version.

    How to Identify Cameras that are Subject to the Firmware Update:
    Please check the serial number on the bottom plate of the camera.
    This firmware update is for products with the following serial numbers.
    -Serial number
    Products whose sixth digit from the left is "2" or less

    Preparations for the firmware update:
    After the downloaded zipped file (dmg file) is extracted, a firmware folder is created.
    *To extract the downloaded file: The downloaded folder is automatically created, and a firmware folder is created. If the downloaded folder cannot be automatically extracted, double-click the folder.

    The new folder created will include the firmware (File name: PS_SX720HS_1010.FI2; File size: 11,718,640 bytes), and instructions on the firmware update procedures (a PDF file in five languages: Japanese, English, French, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese).
    Before starting the firmware update operations, please be sure to carefully confirm your understanding of these instructions.


    The following items are required to perform this firmware update:
    1. A PowerShot SX720 HS digital camera
    2. A computer (OS: Mac OS X)
    OS requirements: Mac OS X (10.9-10.11)
    3. A 32 MB or higher-capacity SD Memory Card, an SDHC Memory Card, or an SDXC Memory Card (all commercially available)
    4. A memory card reader /writer (commercially available) or an SD card slot on the computer.
    5. A fully-charged, dedicated battery pack or a dedicated AC adapter and Interface Cable
    6. The firmware (the file downloaded from the Web site)
