Firmware Version 1.3.0 incorporates the following enhancements and fixes:
1. The [User Def.] on [Picture Style] can now be selected in the Cloud Raw image processing settings.
2. Fixes minor issues.
If the camera's firmware is already Version 1.3.0, it is not necessary to update the firmware.
Notes:
Users manual in the WEB is updated accordingly. Please download the manual as well as the latest firmware. You can download it from the official WEB site.
Preparations for a firmware update:
After the downloaded compressed file (.zip) is extracted, a firmware folder is created.
*Extracting the downloaded file:
Right-click the zip file, and then select Extract All to extract the file.
In the folder you downloaded are the firmware ( EOSR3130.FIR / file size: 85,600,736 bytes) and instructions on the firmware update procedures (a PDF file in five languages: Japanese, English, French, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese). Before starting the firmware update operations, please be sure to check the procedure in accordance with the instruction.
(The following is the history of past firmware updates.)
Changes in version 1.2.2:
1. Fixes an issue that, in rare instances, displays an Error Code 70 when the camera is capturing small subjects.
2. Fixes an issue that, in rare instances, may result in image files not being recorded properly when the battery is removed from the camera while the power switch is set to <ON> or <LOCK>.
Changes in version 1.2.1:
1. Adds the ability to set "Custom high speed continuous" to the Drive mode. It is possible to shoot from 2 to 50 images continuously at a speed of approximately 30 to 195 fps.
2. Adds the ability to select "FHD 239.76 fps/200.00 fps" in "High frame rate."
3. 1- Adds the ability for in camera "Depth compositing" during "Focus bracketing."
2- Adds Focus bracketing and depth compositing with a flash (Speedlite EL-1).
4. Adds the ability of time-lapse movie recording. Note that the time-lapse movie setting is retained even if the camera enters the Auto Power Off state before starting time-lapse movie recording.
5. Adds the ability of Cloud RAW processing functionality. RAW processing with the latest image processing technology is possible. This is a paid service that requires the purchase of a Canon Imaging App Service Plan, which will be available starting July 25, 2022.
6. Adds the ability to convert multiple HEIF images into multiple JPEG images..
7. Adds the ability to set [Still Image Crop/Aspect] to [Custom Controls]. The assigned button can be used to switch between crop and aspect ratio.
8. Adds the ability to crop and resize images during transfer to an FTP server.
9. 802.1X authentication/WPA2-Enterprise now supports the PKCS#12 certificate format.
10. Adds an electronic shutter sound to be played when the mechanical shutter or electronic 1st-curtain is set.
11. Enhances the performance of "Movie Digital IS". It stabilizes the image when taking selfies or walking shots using a wide-angle lens.
12. Adds [Auto Power Off Temp.: Standard/High] to the menu for still shooting.
13. Fixes an issue, which displays Error Code 70 on the camera, that may occur, in rare instances, when the [Disp. performance] setting is set to [Smooth].
14. Fixes minor issues.
15. Fixes an issue, in which, after having updated the camera to firmware Version 1.2.0, when performing the [Factory reset] operation, some shooting settings are not retained.
Changes in version 1.1.1:
1. Adds the ability to use Smart phone link adapter AD-P1.
2. Adds the ability, when using EOS Utility or Browser Remote for remote shooting with two cards inserted, to set the recording method and select the card to be recorded to.
3. Adds the ability to cancel [Subject Tracking] by pressing the Quick Control and then <INFO> buttons.
4. Adds Ukrainian as an option to the language of "Browser Remote".
5. Improves operation stability during FTP transfer.
6. Fixes an issue that in rare instances, the camera may become inoperable when shooting in the Servo AF setting while operating the <AF-ON> button.
7. Fixes an issue, in which the camera cannot be used as an access point if the camera is being used in a region that only support 2.4 GHz bandwidth for Wi-Fi connections.
