Cause and Solution
Large letters, bold lines, or diagrams dense in color were printed.
Perform the following procedure in the printer driver.
1. Display the [Finishing] sheet.
2. Click [Finishing Details], then click [Advanced Settings] in the [Finishing Details] dialog box.
3. Select an appropriate mode in [Special Smoothing Mode].
Normally, set [Special Smoothing Mode] to [Mode 1].
If the following phenomena occur when you print with [Mode 1] specified, switch the setting between [Mode 2] and [Mode 6] according to the phenomena.
- If color unevenness is found in the diagrams (especially in those dark in density).
Specify [Mode 2].
- If the following phenomena occur simultaneously
- Color unevenness is found in the diagrams (especially in those dark in density).
- Outlines of large letters and bold lines (especially those light in density) cannot be printed being smoothed out.
Specify [Mode 3].
- If outlines of large letters and bold lines (especially those light in density) cannot be printed being smoothed out.
Specify [Mode 4].
- If color unevenness is found in letters, lines, and diagrams
Specify [Mode 5].
- If outlines of letters, lines, and diagrams cannot be printed being smoothed out
Specify [Mode 6].
IMPORTANT
- If you specify [Mode 2], outlines of diagrams may not be printed being smoothed out.
- If you specify [Mode 3], the following problems may occur.
- Outlines of diagrams cannot be printed being smoothed out.
- Color unevenness is found in large letters and bold lines.
- If you specify [Mode 4], color unevenness may be found in large letters and bold lines.
- If you specify [Mode 5], outlines of letters, lines, and diagrams may not be printed being smoothed out.
- If you specify [Mode 6], color unevenness may be found in letters, lines, diagrams, and images (such as photographic images).
