Troubleshooting When the Battery Pack Cannot be Charged on the Camcorder

Solution

    Please perform the following procedures if the battery pack cannot be charged even if the compact power adapter is connected to the camcorder.

    1-1.Turn the power of the camcorder < OFF >, and then remove the battery pack.
    1-2.First, connect the compact power adapter to the camcorder, and then install the battery pack.
    1-3.Make sure that the CHG (charge) indicator blinks indicating that charging has started.

    If charging does not start, press the ON/OFF button once.
    Depending on the battery pack, some may start charging without any problems.
    CAUTION
    If the power can be turned < ON > by pressing the ON/OFF button, the battery pack is not being charged.

    If charging still does not start, perform the following procedures.

    2-1.Turn the power of the camcorder < OFF >, and then remove the battery pack.
    2-2.Connect the compact power adapter to the camcorder, and then check whether the power can be turned < ON > by pressing the ON/OFF button.

    • If the power cannot be turned < ON >, there is a possibility that the camcorder or the compact power adapter is defective. Please contact the nearest Canon service center.
    • If the power can be turned < ON >, there is a possibility that the camcorder or the battery pack is defective. Please contact the nearest Canon service center.
