Can movies be down-converted from high definition to standard definition?

High-definition movies can be down-converted to standard definition by one of the following methods.

IMPORTANT

Only AVCHD movies can be converted into standard definition (MPEG2) SD movies.

Using the [Convert HD -> SD] (MPEG2 format) command on the menu, convert and copy movies in the built-in memory to a memory card.

Using PIXELA VideoBrowser supplied with the camcorder, create a DVD in standard definition (DVD-Video format).

When connecting to a TV or a recorder, use the STV-250N (sold separately) stereo video cable to output the analog video signal in standard definition.
