If the mode dial of this camera is set to a mode other than <
>, the camera automatically sets the appropriate exposure value. If you want to adjust the exposure value that is set by the camera, you can use the exposure compensation setting.

1. Set the camera's power switch to <ON>.
2. Set the Mode Dial to <//>.

3. Press the shutter button halfway.
While looking at the viewfinder or LCD panel, turn the <> dial.

- Although you can set the exposure compensation up to ±5 stops in 1/3 stop increments, the exposure compensation indicator in the viewfinder and on the LCD panel can only display the setting up to ±3 stops. - After setting the exposure compensation amount, you can set the <LOCK> switch upward to prevent the exposure compensation amount from changing accidentally.
4. Press the shutter button to take the picture.

IMPORTANT
